Department of BIM Research, Nantong Institute of Technology, 226002, Nantong, Jiangsu, China) abstract: There are more and more types of urban rail vehicles and engineering vehicles along with the rapid development of rail transit. At present, the drawbacks of using clearance cars to check tunnel gauge encroachment appear more prominent, with unsatisfied efficiency to meet the inspection requirements. In this thesis, a method for intelligently detecting the intruded degree of subway tunnels based on 3D laser scanning point cloud data is proposed. With this method, the central axis of the tunnel can be determined based on the spatial projection method, the point cloud of the tunnel section profile and the corresponding gauge model are overlaid to compare and analyze in the gauge reference coordinate system, the boundary detection is realized with the help of the inpolygon function, at the same time the intruded degree is calculated based on the vector algorithm. As the test results, the tunnel gauge can be intelligently detected and the detection result map is generated, showing the subway tunnel gauge detection can be realized quickly and intelligently with the use of 3D laser scanning technology.
